On the 23th –26th of January 2016, Silver Lining for the Needy Initiative (SLNI), carried out a monitoring and evaluations program which was focus mainly on the breastfeeding practices for sick and vulnerable children from (0-12 month) in Nigeria it is an independent study among breastfeeding mothers, the monitoring and evaluation exercised was carried out in three different community Piwoyi, Zhayi 2 and Dutse Alhaji, in Abuja, FCT.
Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) is a process that helps improve performance and achieve result it’s goals is to improve current and future management of outputs, outcome and impact it is mainly used to assess the performance of projects institution and programs set by the organization or government
According to WHO 2003 monitoring and evaluation can help an organization extract relevant information from past and ongoing activities that can be used as the basics for programmatic fine-tuning reorientations and future planning, without effective planning, monitoring and evaluation ,it won’t be possible to judge if work is going in the right direction, whether progress and success can be claimed, and how future efforts might be improved.
- To improve the lives of women and children in rural communities by equipping them with the right knowledge on simple strategies to live healthy for themselves and their children.
- To know how breastfeeding mother overcome some challenges involved during breastfeeding and what are the challenges.
- To help in reducing maternal and child mortality rate in Abuja by administering questionnaire
To informed breastfeeding mother that every challenges they have, it has a solution either from the mother or the babies
