Esther Ekanem has worked extensively in broadcast and media relations in Nigeria and the UK for over 20 years. She has produced and directed several TV programmes and documentaries. She has over the years been commissioned by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to produce a number of awareness and sensitisation Documentaries focused on issues such as, The Proliferation of Small Arms and Light Weapons, Human Trafficking, The ECOWAS Commission and 10 years of The ECOWAS Community Court of Justice in West Africa, all of which were produced in the primary sub- regional languages; English, French and Portuguese. The arrival of ebola virus in Nigeria on 20th July 2014, created a wave of public misinformation that the Open Society of West Africa (OSIWA) needed to correct, Ms Ekanem was called upon to produce a series of TV and radio infomercials and targeted news features for national broadcast.She has worked for notable international NGOs in the UK including Support For Africa (SFA) Founded by UK based celebrity singer/actress Ms Patti Boulaye OBE to build HIV/AIDS and Malaria clinics in Africa and Disability in Camden (DISC), where she was the European Year of Disabled Person 2003 Project Officer.
