Silver Lining for the Needy Initiative (SLNI) is proud to announce the successful completion of the 3rd program in the 2nd phase of the Jigawa Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) Project at Limawa Primary Health Care Centre, marking the 9th program overall.
Empowering Expectant Mothers
The event brought together expectant mothers for in-depth discussions on crucial topics such as:
– Family Planning
– Exclusive Breastfeeding
– Routine Immunization
– Kangaroo Mother Care (Skin-to-Skin Care)
– Personal and Environmental Hygiene
– Antenatal and Postnatal Care
These sessions equipped mothers with the knowledge necessary for healthy pregnancies and successful deliveries.
Support and Resources
In a significant effort to support maternal health, SLNI distributed essential birthing kits and supplements to 100 expectant mothers. Additionally, 25 participants experiencing pregnancy complications received free ultrasound scans, ensuring early detection and intervention.
Engaging Fathers
Recognizing the vital role of fathers in MNCH, the program also included educational sessions tailored for them. Topics covered included:
– Supporting Their Wives
– Kangaroo Mother Care
– Exclusive Breastfeeding
– Routine Immunization
– Childbirth Cost Planning
– Importance of Health Insurance
Eighteen fathers attended these sessions, reinforcing the shared responsibility in promoting maternal and child health.
