Empowering Healthier Families: Jigawa MNCH Project’s Fifth Program

We held the fifth program of our Jigawa Maternal Newborn and Child Health Project (MNCH) under the theme “Silver Lining for Healthier Families” at the Karnaya Primary Health Care Center. This impactful event featured two dedicated sessions for mothers and fathers, providing essential health education and resources.

Focused Sessions for Mothers
In the first session, mothers actively participated and learned about:

  • Exclusive Breastfeeding
  • Routine Immunization
  • Family Planning
  • Kangaroo Mother Care
  • Understanding Postpartum Depression
  • Caring for Sick Children
Expectant mothers received free birthing kits and supplements, and those with pregnancy complications were offered free ultrasound scans at Sambo Hospital, Dutse.

Engaging Fathers
Simultaneously, fathers attended an enlightening session covering:

  • Family Planning
  • Early Marriage
  • Supporting Wives During Pregnancy and Postpartum
  • Planning for Childbirth Costs
  • Importance of Health Insurance
These discussions aimed to empower fathers with the knowledge to support their families effectively.

Collaborative Effort
This remarkable program was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Silver Lining for the Needy Initiative, the T.Y. Danjuma Foundation, and the Rotary Club. Join us in celebrating this milestone and spreading the word about the #JigawaMNCHProject. Together, let’s empower healthier families for a brighter future.
