Hadejia, Jigawa State – Silver Lining for the Needy Initiative (SLNI), in collaboration with the T.Y. Danjuma Foundation and Rotary Club, proudly hosted the 10th event of the Jigawa Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) Project at Gawuna Primary Healthcare Centre. This event also marked the 4th event in the 2nd phase of our ongoing project dedicated to improving maternal and child health in Jigawa State.
Empowering Mothers with Knowledge
The event brought together expectant mothers for insightful discussions on critical health topics, including:
- Family Planning
- Exclusive Breastfeeding
- Routine Immunization
- Kangaroo Mother Care (Skin-to-Skin Contact)
- Personal and Environmental Hygiene
- Antenatal and Postnatal Care
- These sessions were designed to equip mothers with the knowledge and tools they need for safer deliveries and healthier families.
Supporting Maternal Health
Following the educational talks, SLNI distributed 54 essential birthing kits and supplements to the participants, ensuring they have the necessary resources for safe deliveries. Additionally, 24 expectant mothers received free ultrasound scans, providing early detection and support for any pregnancy complications.
Collaborative Effort for Healthier Families
This impactful event was made possible through the dedicated collaboration between SLNI, the T.Y. Danjuma Foundation, and Rotary Club. Together, we are committed to supporting healthier families and ensuring safer deliveries in the community.
As we continue our work in Jigawa State, SLNI remains dedicated to fostering healthier futures for mothers and children through education, resources, and compassionate care.
