INTRODUCTION

SLNI in partnership with Mr T carried out Household Economic Strengthening (HES) program on the 19th of November, 2020. The program was to financially empower thirty (30) widows who have small scale businesses with the sum of N25,000. This is to empower them to invest in their respective businesses, yield profit and increase their means of livelihood. The program kicked off with a word of prayer from one of the beneficiaries followed by introduction and comments from the widows on the state of their wellbeing. Mrs Lovina Christopher who was the anchor at the event called on the widows to express their thoughts and feelings. They appreciated the donor, Mr T, for his kindness towards the widows and prayed for God’s blessings upon him. Mr T advised the widows to make good use of the empowerment fund assuring them that this is just the beginning of the intervention. Refreshments were served to the beneficiaries and the program came to a close.
