education and sensitization, the health outreach conducted in commemoration of
World AIDS Day at Gbagalape Community exemplifies our commitment to holistic
development. In our pursuit of improving livelihoods, the outreach program
underscores SLNI’s commitment to creating a healthier and more empowered
community through inclusive initiatives.
PROGRAMME
Silver Lining for the Needy
Initiative (SLNI) conducted a health outreach program in commemoration of World
AIDS Day on the 1st of December 2023. The event took place at the Gbagalape
Community Primary Healthcare Center, where SLNI provided free HIV and malaria
testing, distributed condoms and clothing, and conducted informative sessions
on gender-based violence and climate change.
PROGRAM ACTIVITIES
Free HIV and Malaria Testing:

Testing
commenced at 9:30 am and was conducted for all participants.
·
All
23 participants tested negative for HIV, bringing relief to the community
· However, 13 participants tested positive for malaria, highlighting the importance of continued efforts in addressing prevalent health issues
Distribution of Condoms and Clothing:

In
addition to the testing services, SLNI distributed free condoms and clothing to
all participants, promoting both health and well-being.

This is aimed at promoting safe practices and providing necessities to those in
need.
Educational Sessions/interview:

Participants
were engaged in interviews on gender-based violence, raising awareness and
providing information on prevention and support.

Conversations
on climate change were also conducted, emphasizing its impact on health and
well-being.

initiative. The negative HIV results provided reassurance to the community,
