Advancing Maternal and Child Healthcare in Jigawa State

Silver Lining for the Needy Initiative (SLNI) launched its third initiative at Limawa Primary Healthcare Center, continuing its mission to enhance maternal and child healthcare in Jigawa State. Under the theme “Empowering Maternal and Child Healthcare,” key representatives, including Mallam Bala Muhammed, Hauwa Ayuba, and Midwife Aisha Yunusa, gathered to promote healthier families in the community.

Educational Sessions
The event, starting at 9:30 am, featured insightful discussions from the SLNI team, focusing on:

  • Kangaroo Mother Care
  • Nutrition
  • Immunization
  • Exclusive Breastfeeding
  • Personal Hygiene
  • Family Planning
  • Post-natal Care

These topics were vital in educating expectant mothers about maintaining health during and after pregnancy.

Essential Support
A significant highlight was the distribution of birthing kits and supplements to 64 expectant mothers, ensuring they had the necessary resources for safe deliveries. Additionally, 25 women with histories of pregnancy complications received free ultrasound scans, thanks to collaboration with the Ty Danjuma Foundation.

Community Engagement
The positive response from the community underscored strong support and engagement with maternal and child health initiatives. SLNI expressed gratitude to all partners for their continued support in advancing maternal, newborn, and child healthcare.
