On the 10th and 11th of August 2023, the Association for Orphans and Vulnerable Children NGOs in Nigeria (AONN) Abuja branch hosted a two (2) day conference. The grand event served as an opportunity to commemorate the organization, ‘s achievements, express gratitude and issue awards to outstanding personalities and their selfless humanitarian service to improve the lives of vulnerable children. It also served as a learning opportunity for CBOs and all participants. The event welcomed a distinguished array of development partners from various sectors, including Silver Lining for the Needy Initiative, esteemed representatives from the National Council of Women Societies, PEPFAR OVC, PACT Nigeria and other notable organizations.
The two (2) day event commenced on August 10, 2023, following the registration of development partners, implementing partners, community-based organizations, civil society organizations, AONN national executives, state coordinators, representatives and all participants.
Day 2, which was August 11, 2023, began with the continuation of the award presentation, followed by the official commencement of the AGSM (Annual General State Meeting). The meeting started with an introduction and recognition of state coordinators/representatives.
The two (2) days of AONN AGSM was a resounding success, with influential dignitaries, development partners, implementation partners and invited guests to partake and celebrate AONN’s remarkable achievements. The event served as a platform to acknowledge the significant positive impact AONN has made in the lives of the less privileged, while also highlighting ways of improving and reaching out to create a better program delivery for a better future for the VC.
