In 2009, she founded Silver Lining for the Needy Initiative (SLNI) in Nigeria, known for impactful community engagement and advocacy. SLNI gained UN ECOSOC’s highest consultative status in 2021. Abbas fosters partnerships, accountability, and sustainability, engaging with various stakeholders, including traditional and religious leaders, women, and youth.
Project Supervisor
Khadija Hassan is a skilled and results-driven Project Supervisor at Silver Lining for the Needy Initiative. With a degree in Human Physiology and a Master’s in Public Health, she combines scientific expertise with strategic insight to lead impactful health projects for vulnerable communities. Orduen Simeon Terzungwe is a dynamic Communications Supervisor with a strong background in strategic communication, digital media management, and community engagement. Administrative & Stakeholder Engagement Officer
Umar Sanda Oyedipe is the Administrative & Stakeholder Engagement Officer for Silver Lining For The Needy Initiative. He specializes in human resources and is responsible for engaging with stakeholders as well as donors through fundraising. Umar graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Studies from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana in 2018 and is a multilingual professional with a background working in multicultural environments. Possessing strong leadership qualities, Umar is adept at fostering relationships and creating a positive work environment for his team members to improve productivity within the office and on the field. Umar is a passionate sports and martial arts enthusiast.
Research & Development Officer
Hamza Abubakar, a top-tier Biochemistry graduate, excels as a Research and Development Analyst at the Silver Lining for the Needy Initiative. His expertise in clinical and environmental surveillance fuels impactful projects addressing educational and gender disparities in Northern Nigeria. Passionate about climate change, research, and human rights, Hamza pioneers sustainable solutions at the intersection of biochemistry, healthcare, and environmental resilience, driving positive change through education and community engagement.

Isa Aisha Ushata, a dedicated nurse and midwife, graduated from KAAF University College Ghana. With a passion for maternal and child health, her advocacy stems from a profound understanding of the significance of comprehensive prenatal and postnatal care. Aisha thrives in community work, finding fulfillment in supporting expectant mothers and new parents. Bala Muhammad, a native of Jigawa state in Nigeria, is deeply dedicated to education and personal growth. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for storytelling, Mercy supports the organization's mission by managing day-to-day accounts, crafting impactful communication materials, and assisting in the design and implementation of community-centered programs.
