The Program started at 2:14 pm on Oct 6th with an address from the coordinator, Mrs Immaculate N. Uche, who introduced POWER and their reason for coming before ushering the teacher. The facilitator took her time to give the children a good teaching. The pamphlets were distributed among the students and the facilitator took her time to interpret it to the students, who by the end of the class were happy. After the teaching from the facilitator, the coordinator took time to encourage the kids telling them the importance of literacy, and distributed the stationeries and refreshments. The class was an exciting one as both the teachers of Unity Primary School were all happy including the headmistress who thanked Power Foundation for their support. The program was a successful one as the interview from the children proved so. The program ended by 4:56 pm.
METHODOLOGY
Preparation: the coordinator was at the venue of the program by 1:30 pm, arranging the environment, setting the banners, and getting every requirement ready before the time.
Mobilization: The coordinator met with the school headmistress informing her of the program and the number of students needed.
Facilitator: the coordinator found a facilitator for the program who was easygoing.
RESULTS
The program was successful, the children learned the meaning of literacy as well as its importance and were thankful to the foundation for their massive love. Out of the expected 50 students, none were absent.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, the program was successful, the headmistress, staff, and students of Unity Primary School are thankful to Power Foundation for their help, kindness, and support. The program ended well as Chief Barr. Jude Ezeala and Chief Cyril Ukeoma graced the program with their presence.
