The Program started at 9:18 am on Oct 14th with prayers and an
introductory speech by the coordinator Mrs Immaculate N. Uche, who thanked the
attendees for coming and introduced the facilitator, Dr. Chinonso. The
facilitator started by talking about hygiene, the benefits of personal hygiene,
oral hygiene, environmental hygiene, and food hygiene. The facilitator also
spoke about drug abuse and its effects. The program was successful as the
facilitator took his time in answering questions asked by the community
attendees and cleared their doubts. Some toiletries (tissue, soap, antiseptics)
and refreshments were given to the attendees at the closing of the program.
METHODOLOGY
Preparation: the coordinator met
with the doctor of Sancta Maria Hospital to discuss the venue, arrangement,
preparation, and resources (toiletries and refreshments) needed for the program.
The coordinator requested for volunteers from the hospital nurses to help with
the free blood pressure check. The doctor also introduced her to another doctor
who will be the facilitator for the program.
Mobilization: The coordinator mobilized
the community using the town crier.
RESULTS
The program
turnout exceeded the program’s target population. The program targeted fifty (50)
individuals but the total number of people present was sixty-five (65).
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, the program
was successful, the attendees expressed their gratitude as they claimed that
they got a lot of new information. The program had a positive impact on the
attendees as proven by the interview that was taken after the program. The
