In commemoration of the International Day of Women and Girls in STEM, SLNI, in partnership with the Power Foundation, launched a two-month STEM project aimed at science students of the Sancta Maria Secondary School. The primary objectives were to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application in STEM subjects, particularly targeting female participation in these fields.
PROGRAMME
The program commenced promptly at 10:08 am with an introduction by the coordinator, setting the tone for the day’s activities. The focal point of the program was a comprehensive lesson on the subject of chemistry, specifically focusing on the topic of cloud formation. A skilled facilitator conducted the lesson, ensuring students gained practical insights into the theories they learn in the classroom. Following the detailed teaching session, an experiment was conducted to vividly illustrate the process of cloud formation and rainfall. The lesson was delivered comprehensively, providing students with a deeper understanding of the concept.
Throughout the program, active participation from the students was encouraged. They enthusiastically asked questions, seeking clarification on various aspects of the lesson. The teacher patiently addressed each query, ensuring that all students grasped the concepts discussed.
A total of 45 students participated in the program, expressing profound satisfaction with the experience. They gained valuable insights into the topic and appreciated the opportunity to engage in practical learning.
