INTERNATIONAL DAY OF EDUCATION (ADULT EDUCATION): IN PARTNERSHIP WITH POWER FOUNDATION

In commemoration of the International Day of Education, Power Foundation in collaboration with Silver Lining for the Needy Initiative organized a comprehensive adult education program which was launched in September 2023 with cohort 1 level 1 and a commencement of cohort 1 level 2 with a new batch for cohort 2 in January 2024. The program aimed to provide education and literacy skills to women who, during their prime, lacked access to formal education, the initiative targeted individuals with a keen interest in learning and enhancing their lives. The adult education training for both cohorts will span a period of 3 months.

PROGRAMME

The program commenced at 3:00 pm with a dignified prayer session led by the students. The coordinator delivered a welcoming address, acknowledging both new and returning students from Cohorts 1 (Level 2) and 2 (Level 1). Each cohort received instruction from dedicated teachers in their respective classrooms, enabling tailored and focused instruction. Adequate writing materials and refreshments were provided, promoting a conducive learning atmosphere. Lessons were comprehensively delivered, accommodating participants with varying levels of literacy. Cohort 1 were taught English and Math while Cohort 2 were taught Introduction and Sentence Formation. Cohort 1 had 16 participants while Cohort 2 had 13 participants out of an expected 20 Participants expressed profound gratitude for the invaluable opportunity provided by the foundation. The success of the program was attributed to the strategic planning and seamless execution of all facets. The program successfully concluded at 5:03 pm. Refreshments were distributed to all participants, fostering a sense of community.

METHODOLOGY

The program’s success was facilitated by meticulous planning and coordination. The coordinator Conducted targeted outreach to women, emphasizing the transformative benefits of education and literacy and also raised community awareness about the impending program.

Rigorous arrangements were made to set up seats and banners, ensuring an optimal learning environment and procurement of requisite stationeries for effective teaching. Meticulous planning ensured the availability of refreshments for all participants.

CONCLUSION/RESULT

The program concluded on a positive note, with both cohorts expressing gratitude to the foundation for their valuable support and the golden opportunity provided. Looking forward to an incredible learning experience for the next 3 months, as both cohorts are excited and ready to learn.
