INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY (HOUSEHOLD INCOME ENHANCEMENT HIE): IN PARTNERSHIP WITH POWER FOUNDATION

The initiative was designed to celebrate International Women’s Day by addressing the economic empowerment of women. Power Foundation and Silver Lining for the Needy Initiative collaborated to create a program specifically aimed at supporting women in the community. By focusing on providing financial assistance to fifty (50) women engaged in trades and businesses, the program sought to uplift their economic status and improve their overall quality of life.

PROGRAMME

The program’s implementation involved careful planning and execution to ensure the effective distribution of funds to the beneficiaries which included thirty (30) single mothers/widows and also twenty (20) beneficiaries from our ongoing adult education program. Transparent and accountable processes were established to guarantee that the financial assistance reached those who needed it the most. Each beneficiary received thirty thousand-naira (₦30,000) support tailored to their individual needs and business requirements, reflecting a personalized approach to empowerment.

BENEFICIARY ENGAGEMENT

One of the key aspects of the program was the active involvement of the beneficiaries. After receiving the funds, the women participated enthusiastically in sharing their plans on how to invest the money in their trades. This engagement demonstrated their commitment to utilizing the financial support effectively to grow their businesses. By empowering the beneficiaries to make decisions regarding their businesses, the program encouraged a sense of ownership and responsibility among the women.

GRATITUDE AND APPRECIATION

The expressions of gratitude and appreciation from the beneficiaries underscored the impact of the program on their lives. The heartfelt prayers and words of thanks conveyed the profound significance of the support they received. This appreciation not only reflected the immediate impact of the financial assistance but also highlighted the emotional and psychological support provided by Power Foundation and Silver Lining for the Needy Initiative.

CONCLUSION

The program’s success was evident in the positive outcomes achieved from the beneficiaries. By empowering women economically, the initiative contributed to their overall well-being and resilience. The collaborative efforts of Power Foundation and Silver Lining for the Needy Initiative showcased the power of partnerships in driving meaningful change within communities. Moving forward, building on the success of this program can lead to further empowerment and sustainable development for women in need.
